The story
Frederico da Cunha. Tito, to everyone.
He was one of the four behind Sal, twelve years on the sand at Praia do Pego. He knew what this place was, and he had no patience for versions of Comporta that weren't true.
In 2020, when everything shut, he wouldn't let it come apart into every business for itself. Restaurants, shops, hotels, neighbours — he got everyone holding the same line: #wekeepcomportasafe. Not a campaign. People answering for each other, because there was nobody else to do it.
That's what this is. A place appears here when two people who live here put their names to it. Nothing is bought. Everything you read has passed through someone who was here in February.
Tito died in November 2022, a few weeks after Sal's last day at Pego. His partners reopened on 8 April — his birthday.
The name is his. We just made it shorter.
